Stable Genius Productions LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Move Break mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. 1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Email Address: If you choose to sign up for updates, we collect your email address. Your email address is stored separately and is never linked to your anonymous usage data or anonymous identifier.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, we may automatically collect the following information:
Anonymous Identifier: We generate a random, anonymous identifier on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any other personally identifiable information.
Usage Event Data: If you opt in to our citizen-science research program, we collect anonymized event logs including: timestamps of Move Break reminders, the reminder interval you selected (e.g., every 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes), whether a Move Break was completed, snoozed, or skipped, and the optional movement category selected.
Device Information: We may collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for the purpose of improving app performance and compatibility.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, precise location, health data from Apple HealthKit, contacts, photos, or any biometric data. We do not use cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
2. Citizen-Science Research Program
Move Break includes an optional citizen-science research feature. Participation is entirely voluntary and requires your explicit opt-in consent. If you choose to participate, your anonymized usage event data (as described in Section 1.2) will be periodically uploaded in batches to our secure servers. This data may be used for research into how movement breaks affect health and wellbeing, in collaboration with academic research partners. No data is shared in real-time. You may opt out of the research program at any time through the App’s settings, and your anonymized data will no longer be collected going forward.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: deliver and maintain the App’s reminder and logging functionality; send you email updates if you have opted in; conduct anonymized research on movement break patterns and health outcomes (only with your explicit consent); improve the App’s performance and user experience; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share anonymized, aggregated research data with academic research partners for the purpose of studying movement and health outcomes. No individual user can be identified from this shared data. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your anonymous identifier and usage data are generated and stored locally on your device. If you opt in to the citizen-science program, anonymized data is transmitted in batches to secure servers. We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You may opt out of the citizen-science research program at any time. You may unsubscribe from email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. You may request deletion of any data we hold by contacting us at the address below. You may delete the App at any time, which will remove all locally stored data from your device.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
8. Third-Party Services
The App uses local notifications delivered by Apple’s iOS notification system. We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or social media tracking tools. If we integrate any third-party services in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
